Wigan Careers Service provides information and advice to help you, our clients, make well informed decisions about your future plans in relation to education, training and employment opportunities
What we offer
We can provide the following services:
- Access to careers software including interactive guidance packages (click here for more details)
- Up to date careers and labour market information
- Referral to training, education and employment providers
- Referral to other organisations offering information, advice and guidance e.g. IAG Network (click here for more details)
- Access to groupwork activities to help you with your career plans
- Impartial advice
- CV advice and production (Please allow five working days for CV production)
- Support with application forms and/or interview techniques
- Free Internet access for the purposes of job search (click here for more details)
- Endorsement of Career Development Loans
- Advice on funding for education
What you can expect from us
- A service that treats all eligible clients equally
- A confidential and impartial service that treats all clients with courtesy and respect
- Clients will be informed beforehand about any relationship with another organisation and how this might affect confidentiality now or in the future
- All our staff have achieved or are working towards appropriate NVQs (or equivalent) in information and/or guidance
Where we are
We will be able to provide you with information during our opening hours at all our sites. Advice and guidance is available at different times and may be subject to appointment. Our services are free to the residents of Wigan Borough but may be subject to eligibility criteria and location. Please contact one of our offices for further information and advice.
