Careers and Job Search Centre
As well as providing as providing confidential advice and guidance, the Careers Service also produces an annual list of local and national companies who are currently recruiting. For more information, see your Careers Adviser or call into your local Careers and Job Search Centre

Job Centre
Some vacancies are only advertised through the Job Centre and are displayed on noticeboards or on the employment service website www.employmentservice.gov.uk or www.worktrain.gov.uk.

Employment agencies
Anyone aged 18 or above can register with an Employment Agency. Some agencies deal with vacancies covering a variety of different occupational areas whilst others specialise in a particular area e.g. office work. Agencies deal with permanent and temporary vacancies, full-time and part-time.

The Internet
The Internet is becoming an increasing source of vacancies. Certain sites are specifically targeted at job hunters whilst others allow you to register your details online or apply online. Examples of job hunting sites include:
