Year 11: Application Advice
Telephone Tips
Telephone response to a job advertisement
Some advertisements ask you to telephone for further details and/or an application form
Before telephoning you should:
- Make sure you have the advertisement close to hand for reference and if possible ask for the person named in the advert.
- Have pen and paper in case you need to take down further details.
- Write down beforehand what you are going to say.
- Always be polite and courteous.
- If the person is not available, ask when he/she will be in and say you'll ring back. Make sure you leave your name and the reason why you're calling.
- Write down any information they give you regarding the post or location of the company.
